The Ukrainian culture share many aspects with the one of Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Belarus. Ukrainian customs are heavily influenced by the Eastern Orthodox Church and traditions from Slavic mythology. Ukrainians are very extremely generous and hospitable people.
Ukrainian couples usually have one to two children, and it remains a somewhat low average number of children per family in Europe. While families have become smaller it is still at the center of the Ukrainian culture, and it is quite common for grandparents to be actively caring for grandchildren and participating in their education. Parents tend to demand a better behavior, in public and at school, and can be perceived as stricter than the normal across Western culture.
Ukrainian au pairs will usually have child care experience through private babysitting of younger siblings and relatives, kids in their neighborhood, etc.
The procedure to obtain a driver’s license in Ukraine is quite complicated! It requires a series of written and practical tests. Ukrainian driving is known to be somewhat chaotic, which can also mean that your Ukrainian au pair will be used to paying attention to the surroundings and drivers around. It is always recommended that you discuss your driving needs with your au pair.
Foreign language instruction is mandatory in Ukraine, and four languages are taught: English, German, French, and Spanish. Nearly 90% of students choose to study English.

I want to become an au pair in the exchange program in the USA because it would be a great experience for me to travel safely in the Country and get to know a new culture from firsthand. I am reliable, warm-hearted and responsible this is also how my family and friends would describe me. I bring a lot of patience, take good care of children of all ages and I stay calm even when things get stressful. These are features which I was able to develop during my work in kindergarten and while babysitting. Empathy and good communication skills are key so that children feel heard and understood. I have a deep passion for American culture, particularly its language, music, appeal, and landscapes. Caring for children aged 4 to 13 has strengthened my commitment to their well-being and education. I've introduced children to various activities, such as new sports, music genres, cuisines… My top priority has always been children's safety, and I've developed conflict resolution skills. These experiences have allowed me to form meaningful connections with the children I've cared for. That's why I feel qualified to participate in the EurAuPair program. Also, I easily adapt to new environments, having traveled alone across Europe as soon as i turned 18. While my English skills are a work in progress, I'm eager to become an au pair to develop them. This experience is a chance to improve my English and prepare my future career as a flight attendant.

First of all, becoming an au pair exchange program participant in the USA is the opportunity to keep on working with children since that is what I like the most. Also, because I want to improve my English oral skills, visit new places, learn about a new culture and share my own with my host family. Secondly, I consider I am responsible, independent, attentive, honest, empathic, hardworking and lovely. All those personaly traits are bland skills I can use for taking care of the children and making of this experience the best one ever. Furthermore, all my knowledge and the experience working with children as a nurse assistant is the most valuable strength I have for assiting the children in any urgency or emergency. Also, I know how to give First Aid Assistance in any unexpected situation.
