Ukrainian couples usually have one to two children, and it remains a somewhat low average number of children per family in Europe. While families have become smaller it is still at the center of the Ukrainian culture, and it is quite common for grandparents to be actively caring for grandchildren and participating in their education. Parents tend to demand a better behavior, in public and at school, and can be perceived as stricter than the normal across Western culture.
Ukrainian au pairs will usually have child care experience through private babysitting of younger siblings and relatives, kids in their neighborhood, etc.
The procedure to obtain a driver’s license in Ukraine is quite complicated! It requires a series of written and practical tests. Ukrainian driving is known to be somewhat chaotic, which can also mean that your Ukrainian au pair will be used to paying attention to the surroundings and drivers around. It is always recommended that you discuss your driving needs with your au pair.
Foreign language instruction is mandatory in Ukraine, and four languages are taught: English, German, French, and Spanish. Nearly 90% of students choose to study English.

I would like to become an au pair because have had experience here in my country and I would like to live the experience in America. I am funny, and I really like to see children laugh and see them happy. And not only to them but also to adults. I am very patient because I know that each child is different, and they all show their way of being in different ways. Each child has a different personality, of course. I have already taken care of my cousins ?? since they were very young, and I was also younger, I used to shower them and get them ready to go to school, and I also helped them with homework. I am also very dynamic, so I used to help my grandmother with the bible school for the children ages 3–13 years old. Also, I used to comb the hair of my neighbor's kids. For me, the best way to handle kids is teaching them with love and become their friend.

I feel that I am capable of achieving everything I set out to do, I always been a very responsible person, kind and above all very affectionate and loving with children. I really like being with children and I ever joined the summer work and travel program before, I worked at an amusement park, I saw a lot of kids and their parents all the time, I was touched by their loving and caring atmosphere. I hope I can experience the authentic American life and improve my oral English through this program. Besides, I have rich experience in teaching children and enjoy playing with them. It is very meaningful to spread Chinese culture in this process. First of all, my English ability can communicate normally. Secondly, I have driving, swimming and other skills. Firstly because I really enjoy sharing my time with children and I would like to be an au pair because I love the idea of caring for and helping in the development of children while having the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture and improve my command of the English language.
