Looking for an Au Pair in Alexandria, Virginia?

With over 30 years of experience, EurAupair was one of the first au pair programs to become designated by the U. S. Department of State to legally sponsor au pairs to come to the United States, and has placed tens of thousands of au pairs across the country including in the Alexandria area.

EurAupair is an affordable child care option, making it a real value for such flexible, loving, in-home care. And, unlike other forms of child care, the fee is for children of all ages, and per family - not per child.

Local Support from EurAupair Community Counselors

Following the receipt of your application form, a local Community Counselor from the Alexandria area will be assigned to your family. The Community Counselor is available to answer any questions and provide assistance to both you and your au pair throughout your year together.

"I am a Community Counselor in the Alexandria/Springfield area of Northern Virginia. My husband and I have also been host parents since our twins were born in 2008. Because of the benefits my family has received from opening our home and lives to our au pairs, in 2010 I volunteered to become a CC to help families like yours decide if the cultural exchange/child care program is the right solution for you. Our au pairs have become members of our ever-extending family, and I would love the opportunity to provide your family with the opportunity to also benefit from an exposure to new cultures, languages, and ways of life. Life as a parent can be stressful, and I hope to help ease that stress through exploring live-in child care, where the work hours can more tailored to your family’s needs than day care. I offer year-round support to each family, assisting you in navigating through the program, offering advice on any cultural challenges that may arise, and meeting any other needs that may come up. I also enjoy mentoring each au pair throughout her year, emphasizing to her that she is the eyes, ears, and hearts of her host parents while trusted with the children’s care. I gain great personal satisfaction as a CC, and always try my best to provide individualized support to each family and au pair, to make each placement as successful as possible." from Community Counselor Kelley Land.

Some examples of monthly au pair meetings in the area include: Boat ride on the Potomac river, Cherry Blossom festival, Christmas Lights festival, National Day of Giving volunteering, visit at the Fire Station, dinner get-togethers and potlucks (right picture), Baseball games (left picture) and much more!
