I babysat Ithan (8mths) from January to August 2024. I fed and bathed him, changed diapers, dressed him, and put him down for naps. I looked after Maria (7) from January 2022 to January 2023. I helped with homework, did her hair, played with her, and prepared meals. I also looked after Sebastian (7) and Mariana (5) from January 2023 to January 2024. I did fun activities with them such as cycling, painting and cooking, I helped them get ready for school and helped with homework. I worked on a school bus route from February 2018 to February 2020 accompanying children ages 1 to 15 years old. My responsibility was to ensure their safety and well-being and do some entertaining activities with them. Lastly, I cared for a group of children ages 1 to 5 years old from January 2016 to January 2018. My responsibilities included reading, listening to children's songs, teaching letters and numbers, playing educational games and putting them down for naps. I've babysat Ithan (1) since January 2025 on weekends. I feed, bath, and dress him, play with him and do fun exercises with him.

First of all, I love spending time with children; they are the most loving and fun beings, and they help me grow so much as a person through everything they do. Growing up in Colombia has given me a deep appreciation for my culture and language, which I want to share with my future host family. My previous experience as a nanny has equipped me with the skills to teach children to read, write, and engage in creative activities like arts and crafts. I am patient, adaptable, and dedicated to creating an enriching environment that supports children's growth and development. Additionally, I would love to learn about their culture and improve my English. I hope to have a positive impact and learn from this enriching experience.

I want to participate in the Au Pair program because I would like to live the experience of getting to know another culture and a country different from mine, learning their language and being able to improve my English with native people doing what I like, which is taking care of children. I consider myself qualified for the program because I have experience caring for children from 3 months to 12 years of age, I work as a substitute teacher's assistant in a school with children from 3 to 16 years of age as a writing and reading reinforcement teacher and also taking care of the children at the end of the student session. Therefore I understand that my strengths are patience, understanding and collaboration with the growth of infants.

I was an English tutor to Anissa (5) and Lua (8) form March to June 2023. From January to June 2020 I worked at a school taking care of children ages 1 to 4 years old. I taught English, supervised them, entertained them and helped them eat and clean up after them. I looked after Thais (12) from October 2023 to March 2025. I helped with homework and took her to activities. Finally, I babysat Rosa (10 and Celina (2mths) form December 2024 to March 2025. I prepared meals, fed and bathed the children, did light house cleaning, and entertained the children.

I first heard about the au pair program in 2018, through an youtuber I really liked. I thought about become an au pair at the end of 2019 and went to the travel agency to know more information about it. I decided it would be great for me to go at the end of 2020, after my first semester of college but unfortunately I wasn't able to due to the pandemic. Now I remembered about that idea and thought it was the perfect moment for me to go. I've always loved new cultures, and travelling. Living abroad has been in my plans since I'm young and all my cousins had at some point lived in a foreign country except for me. I check all the boxes to be a great au pair, including really loving kids. I am sure this is going to be a great opportunity for me to grow and learn a lot with my host family and the new culture.

Additionally, from January 2025, I worked in a kindergarten with 23 children aged 4 to 6 years old. There, I maintained order, carried out motor activities, and ensured classroom routines were followed.

I want to become an AuPair because I want to learn about another culture, people, and lifestyle while sharing my own culture with others. I am very excited to be an Au pair because I would like to share my childcare skills and share my experience and skills. Early education is one of my passions and I also want to improve my English by living cultural immersion with an American family. I consider that this program can give me the opportunity to grow as a person and I would love to live the experience studying abroad and make good friends.
