From August to November 2023, I volunteered in a preschool taking care of children ages 1 to 4 years old. I supervised snack times, spent time playing with the children and taught them how to draw and paint. I babysat Dylan (10) and Damara (8) from December 2022 to July 2023. I prepared meals, did different activities with them, helped them with homework and played with them. From 2022 to March 2024, I looked after Thiago (9) on weekend. In addition to having all the experience in child care, I will not see it as a job since for me it is like a vocation and when you love what you do you do not see it as work but as fun. I chose the Au pair program because I like taking care of children, their simple happiness fills my soul.

From November 2023 to present, I take care of Atenea (3). I assist the child in getting dressed and brushing child's teeth, teaching and take care of the child. From September 2020 to June 2021, I took care of Itzayana (1) for four hours, five days a week. I prepared food, spoon and bottle fed the child, played and changed diapers. From September 2029 to September 2020, I helped out with two groups of children from 5 to 12 year of age for seven hours, three days a week. Because it is a great opportunity for me and my personal and professional development. I have high expectations for the program to make strong ties with the American family, friends and colleagues. Another personal goal is to save a little money to return to my country and start a business. Improve my level of English as it is necessary to complete the procedures for my university degree. My experience in taking care of children is very great since in my family I am the oldest sister and cousin. I have had 3 different jobs in childcare, 2 as a nanny and 1 as a science teacher. That, added to my self-discipline, independence and emotional management skills, are strengths that speak in my favor.

From 05/2020 to 05/2021 I cared for a group of children ages newborn to 1 years old for 3 days a week. I was responsible for their care, singing them to sleep, dressing, feeding and vaccinating. From 04/2017 to 03/2023 I cared for Punch (6) for 2 hours a day. I would assist in bathing, dressing, feeding, styling her hair, and finding activities to do together. From 06/2021 to 02/2023 I cared for pediatric patients ages 4-15 for 8 hours a day for a total of 10 days. I would prepare for operation room, find activities that interested the children and kept them clean.

I would like to become an Au Pair because I obviously love children. I was an Au Pair in the UK 5 years ago, and I have worked as an entertainer in summer camps and as a babysitter for 6 years. I would like to be an au pair exchange program participant because, I love children and being around them. I love taking care of them and getting to know more about the things they enjoy doing. I really enjoy being around children, take care of them, and share quality times with them so when I found out that as an Aupair I can do that and also learn a new culture and improve my English speaking skills, I thought it was perfect. Having spent a year and a half with a family and the fact that most of that time was during quarantine makes me improve creative my skills, because I had to do things new every time so that the children would not feel in a monotony. I consider that my strengths are patience, that I feel very comfortable interacting with children of all ages, I can easily adapt to any situation, the love with which I do things, the empathy and respect that I have for the children. I know I have the ability to make this year the best for me and for the host family, so I look forward to live this experience.
