Child Care Experience
I've babysat Amir (2mths) and Miral (newborn) since August 2022 once a week. I play with them, change diapers, feed and bath them, put them down for naps and take them out for walks. I babysat Giacomo (1) from July to October 2022. I picked him up from school, took him to the park to play, bathed him, dressed him, and prepared meals. Lastly, I looked after Vera (7) and Alessandro (5) in July 2023. I played with them, helped around the house and prepared meals.

I really would like to become an au pair in the USA because it's been my dream since I was 15 years old when I found out the possibility to combine two of my biggest interests: children and English. I've dreamt about the USA since I was 11 years old and actually I can't put into words what are my feelings about the possibility to live one year there, I'm just really excited. Even if I know that this experience is made of ups and downs I think the time has come for me to put myself to the test. I consider myself qualified to participate in this experience since I love children, I love English (and I'd like to improve it) and I want to challenge myself. In my opinions my strengths include my determination (if I'm really interested in something I can't see anything else), my heart, my goodness and my ability to try to pursue my dreams even if there are lots of difficulties in my life.

From 06/2019 to 09/2023 I cared for Racheke (3) and Davide (newborn) for 20 hours a week. I prepared breakfast and stayed with them until lunch, then I came back in the afternoon and organized chores and activities to do together. From 07/2018 to 08/2024 I cared for 3 children ages newborn to 6 years old. I prepared food for them and entertained them by organizing activities and crafts to do together. From 01/2018 to 08/2024 I cared for a group of children ages 3 to 18 years old on a monthly basis. I would provide childcare, meal preparation, activities planning and supervision during chores.

I feel qualified because I really like to stay among kids and try to learn from them as well grow with them. Thanks to the experiences I had in babysitting I could noticed that I'm very patient , responsible and creative with them. As I had the possibility in the past to go in another country for a year, I deeply would like to spend some time discovering a new culture and other places.

I want to become an au pair because, for me, it’s the perfect way to combine my passions: caring for children and traveling. I have experience as a babysitter and have worked with children on multiple occasions. Each time, I built a good relationship with them, which I believe is due to my calm nature and genuine interest in them; this has always brought me a lot of joy. I also love traveling and exploring new cities, foods, and lifestyles. At first, it makes me feel a bit nervous, but it also fills me with curiosity and excitement. I think this experience would be a wonderful opportunity to meet people from around the world, improve my English, and share beautiful moments with my host family. I would like to become an au pair exchange program participant in the U.S. because I enjoy taking care of children, getting in touch with a new culture (which I have already come into contact with twice on short vacations in NY) and improving my English. **I am willing to take care of children ages 2 years and older.** I have been caring for Beatrice (3) and Fillipo (since he was born) since 2018. I play with them, cook dinner, and stay with them when they are sick. In the summer of 2016 and 2017, I cared for a group of children ages 4 to 17 years old. I organized activities and workshops. In July 2016, I cared for Giorgia (4) and Ludovica (1). I entertained them during their holidays.

My interests and hoobies are expectialy reading and traveling. I really like walking and when I visit some place I avoid where possible to move with means of transport other than my feet. I take a singing class and have been dancing hip-hop for a few years. I've been doing theatre for a few years, and I like to draw or do art workshops. I love to do escape rooms and almost every monday I go to play board games with a group of passionate friends. Board games are my favorite pastime when I'm not traveling. I go to the gym 3/4 times a week, I like hiking and during the winter I go snowboarding. I also took a surf lesson and I really liked it, but it is difficult to carry on as a passion in the Po Valley. I like volleyball and I did judo and swimming for a few years.

I would like to participate in this program because, after my experience as a mini club entertainer, I always wanted to work with children again. They were an example for me. They help each other, create a group, share things, and make peace after a while, the imagination they have is something that we then gradually lose over the years. It's a continuous life lesson for me to take care of them. I have wanted to be an au pair for years, especially in America. It's a country that has always fascinated me, so I wanted to combine the pleasure of taking care of children with the possibility of living surrounded by a reality different from my own. I like a lot of taking care of people, so I think I’m suitable for this experience.
