Child Care Experience
From June to present, I volunteer in a children's holiday program with children from 6 to 12 years of age. I supervise the children and do painting and crafting with the children. From March 2023 to September 2024, I took care of Lotta (1) for one to two times per week. I prepared meals, played, took child for walks, went to the playground and to the local farm where the child's father is working. From August 2023 to February 2024, I took care of Nino (1) for two to four times per week. I prepared meals, played and put child to sleep.

I enjoy reading, cooking just like baking, and pilates, in which I participate once or two times a week in a sports community at home. Above all, I am an outgoing person who really enjoys travelling and adventures. I really enjoy Pilates together with my best friend. In my early childhood, I participated in gymnastics and dancing, which I had to cancel through my schedule in school.

I am also excited about the opportunity to learn more about American culture and traditions, like the forth of july and especially about Thanksgiving which is not implemented and celebrated here, while sharing my own cultural background with your family. I believe that this cultural exchange will be enriching for both of us and will help foster mutual understanding and respect. I am the eldest of three children as well as many cousins, which has given me firsthand experience in caring for and managing the needs of younger siblings. From August to September 2024, I did an internship in a Kindergarten with children from 3 to 6 years of age. I played, helped get the children dressed, comforted and read books to the children. From February 2020 to October 2022, I took care of Carla (4) and Mika (11) for two to tree days a month. I played, prepared small meals and put the children to bed.

I always dreamed of taking a gap year in the USA after school. For a few years now I had the idea of becoming an AuPair. I think it is a great option for me, because I love children and can live in a different country with the comfort of a family around me. I feel like what would make me a good AuPair is, for one my passion when it comes to children. I always have so much fun with them and it warms my heart, when I make them laugh or they can learn something from me. For second, a great quality of mine is definitely my patience. When it comes to children it often doesn’t work the way you wanted it to, because children don’t always act as you wish. It is very important in those situations to keep calm and don’t put any pressure on the children or on yourself.

I wish to become an au pair, because I love spending time with children. Children are simply wonderful, creative, honest and carefree. I may be an only child, but I spend a lot of time with my little cousins and Ida. They are so cute. I would like to get to know the American way of live and culture, celebrate Thanks Giving and Halloween. My greatest wish is to become part of a large, loving and lively family. From 11/2023 to 04/2024 i cared for Luis (2) and Romy (10) for 15 hours a week. i was responsible for making him diner, wake him up, bringing him to the kindergarten, playing with him, going out, change the diapers and dressing. From 03/2022 to 03/2023 I cared for kindergarten children ages 2-6 for 40 hours a week. I was responsible for changing the diapers, help them to go to the toilet, reading a book to go to sleep, going out, play something together, sing together and make game offers to show them new things. I would like to become an au pair exchange program participant in the USA because I want to get to know a new culture, improve my language skills, take a break from everyday life and because I have a passion for working with children. I am qualified for the EurAupair program because I am 18 years old, I have experience in childcare, I have good English skills and I am willing to live and work abroad for a certain period of time. I want to become an Aupair in the USA again because I genuinely enjoy working with kids and for me it's incredibly rewarding to be part of their daily lives, growth and development. Plus, the USA holds a special place in my heart, and having lived there before, I know how much I enjoy the culture and the diversity of experiences it offers. For me, it's not just about babysitting; it's about creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where kids can be themselves. I also love sharing bits of my own culture with the children I care for. In fact, my former host kids still talk about the German food I made for them and crave it from time to time! I think those little cultural exchanges, whether it's through language, food, or traditions, add something special to the relationship. I believe my strengths are patience, creativity, and adaptability.

First of all, I love travelling. When I was younger, my family and I visited a lot of German cities. We also hiked in Austria, went camping in France or sightseeing in Belgium and visited my grand-parents in Florida or explored New York. Apart from travelling, I love working with children. In the last years, I was teamleader in various holiday programs where we organized, par example treasure hunts, water games or craft sessions. Last year, I did an internship at an so-called 'early intervention centre', where we help children with specific needs. And therefore a year as an au pair seemed perfect for me.
