Child Care Experience
From June to present, I volunteer in a children's holiday program with children from 6 to 12 years of age. I supervise the children and do painting and crafting with the children. From March 2023 to September 2024, I took care of Lotta (1) for one to two times per week. I prepared meals, played, took child for walks, went to the playground and to the local farm where the child's father is working. From August 2023 to February 2024, I took care of Nino (1) for two to four times per week. I prepared meals, played and put child to sleep.

I enjoy reading, cooking just like baking, and pilates, in which I participate once or two times a week in a sports community at home. Above all, I am an outgoing person who really enjoys travelling and adventures. I really enjoy Pilates together with my best friend. In my early childhood, I participated in gymnastics and dancing, which I had to cancel through my schedule in school.

I am also excited about the opportunity to learn more about American culture and traditions, like the forth of july and especially about Thanksgiving which is not implemented and celebrated here, while sharing my own cultural background with your family. I believe that this cultural exchange will be enriching for both of us and will help foster mutual understanding and respect. I am the eldest of three children as well as many cousins, which has given me firsthand experience in caring for and managing the needs of younger siblings. This early experience to childcare has shaped my passion for working with children and has instilled in me a sense of responsibility, patience, and empathy

From August to September 2024, I did an internship in a Kindergarten with children from 3 to 6 years of age. I played, helped get the children dressed, comforted and read books to the children. From February 2020 to October 2022, I took care of Carla (4) and Mika (11) for two to tree days a month. I played, prepared small meals and put the children to bed.

I always dreamed of taking a gap year in the USA after school. For a few years now I had the idea of becoming an AuPair. I think it is a great option for me, because I love children and can live in a different country with the comfort of a family around me. I feel like what would make me a good AuPair is, for one my passion when it comes to children. I always have so much fun with them and it warms my heart, when I make them laugh or they can learn something from me. For second, a great quality of mine is definitely my patience. When it comes to children it often doesn’t work the way you wanted it to, because children don’t always act as you wish. It is very important in those situations to keep calm and don’t put any pressure on the children or on yourself.

From September 2022 to present, I take care of Ida (2) for three hours a week. I take child outside, play and do different activities with the child. From April to May 2022, I took care of a group of children from 6 to 10 years of age. I was a volunteer in school, tutored, helped the teacher and taught math and German to the children.

I wish to become an au pair, because I love spending time with children. Children are simply wonderful, creative, honest and carefree. I may be an only child, but I spend a lot of time with my little cousins and Ida. They are so cute. I would like to get to know the American way of live and culture, celebrate Thanks Giving and Halloween. My greatest wish is to become part of a large, loving and lively family. Of course I would also like to improve my English language skills. I`m organized, responsible and social. Also I´m creative and athletic. I love the nature.

From 11/2023 to 04/2024 i cared for Luis (2) and Romy (10) for 15 hours a week. i was responsible for making him diner, wake him up, bringing him to the kindergarten, playing with him, going out, change the diapers and dressing. From 03/2022 to 03/2023 I cared for kindergarten children ages 2-6 for 40 hours a week. I was responsible for changing the diapers, help them to go to the toilet, reading a book to go to sleep, going out, play something together, sing together and make game offers to show them new things. From 10/2023 to 03/2024 I cared for kindergarten children ages 3-6 for 40 hours a week. I was responsible for planning activities, supervising and playing.

I would like to become an au pair exchange program participant in the USA because I want to get to know a new culture, improve my language skills, take a break from everyday life and because I have a passion for working with children. I am qualified for the EurAupair program because I am 18 years old, I have experience in childcare, I have good English skills and I am willing to live and work abroad for a certain period of time. I meet the personal suitability for the role as an au pair, such as my sense of responsibility, my flexibility and I have the ability to fit in well with a host family. I did an internship at an elementary school in November 2021 and in June 2022 taking care of children ages 6 to 11 years old. I assisted them with school work, supervised recess, played with the children, did conflict resolution if needed, and helped the children maintain good hygiene. I've looked after my cousin (2) since September 2023. I play with the child and prepare meals. I've assisted with a children's school choir since January 2023. I help with their appearance, keep them calm, listen and give tips with singing and playing their instruments, help with reading notes, and encourage them.

I want to become an Au Pair because I‘ve always been fascinated by the USA. From the movies, the history and holidays everything fascinates me. Which is why it’s been my dream from a very young age to experience the American life. But also working with children is a dream for me. I love working with kids and teenagers, which is why I want to become a teacher later and being an Au Pair is both dreams combined. I think I‘m qualified to participate in the program because being with people makes me complete. My strengths are that I never get bored and I can laugh at myself, but also that I can be very compassionate.

From July to August 2023, I took care of several children from 6 to 12 years of age for a holiday program. I prepared food, played, organized group meetings and did sports with the children. From the 17th to the 28th of April 2023, I took care of several children from 2 to 6 years of age. I played with the children, talked with and taught the children.

First of all, I love travelling. When I was younger, my family and I visited a lot of German cities. We also hiked in Austria, went camping in France or sightseeing in Belgium and visited my grand-parents in Florida or explored New York. Apart from travelling, I love working with children. In the last years, I was teamleader in various holiday programs where we organized, par example treasure hunts, water games or craft sessions. Last year, I did an internship at an so-called 'early intervention centre', where we help children with specific needs. And therefore a year as an au pair seemed perfect for me.

From 01/2018 to 12/2020 I care for Hugo (4) and Hardy (6) for 5 hours a day, 2 days a week. I was responsible for helping with homework, tidying up the children's room together, going to playgrounds, and getting them to bed. From 02/2019 to 12/2024 I cared for a group of children ages 1 to 13 4-5 times a week. I helped with homework, studied together for school, made supper and put to bed, talked and played a lot. From 09/2021 to 06/2024 I cared for a group of children ages 12-18 for 5 hours a week. I was volunteer support for confirmation candidates: thematic leadership of a small group, preparation and implementation of the thematic units, participation in training courses in the field of pedagogy and theology.

I would be happy to participate in the Au Pair exchange program in the USA because I really love to take care for children and want to become part of a family in the U.S. To get to know the american way of life is one of my oldest dreams. Discovering unknown places, new cultures and making friends on another part of the world is what I appriciate most . Improving my English is one of the nice side effects. I guess this special experience will let me grow in many aspects. Since I have a lot of experience in child care in different constellations I am mostly qualified. One of my biggest strenghts are my sense of responsibilty and my organizational skills. Since I have a very positive attitude it´s easy for my to deal with difficult situations. I worked in a kindergarten in July 2024 taking care of a group of children ages 2 to 7 years old. I played with the children, did arts and crafts with them, made sure their needs were met and prepared meals. I was a tutor to Fabian (13) from December 2021 to December 2022.
